Just a day

So today my husband and I decided that we need to do something different with the kids in the morning. They hate to get up and get ready for school. They both love school but hate getting up in the morning. We have decided that we are going to make a sticker chart and they can add a sticker every time they get up with out fighting. After the chart is full they get to choose weather they get an extra hour on the computer, a picnic at the park or a friend sleepover. I am hoping with these choices that we are able to get them to want to get up in the morning. Justin fights a lot going to school. He has issues of being teased and tormented while being there. His teacher and school staff are working on the issue so I am pretty sure that it will get taken care of quickly. Kourtnee loves school. All she does is talks about how many friends she has and about all the new things they learned. She is only in kindergarten so I am hoping she keeps up the positive attitude about school. My husband has been going over and volunteering at the school so that also seems to help. I will keep you all posted on if all this works or not. Homemade finger painting

So easy not necessarily clean but it is edible. It is so simple and all you need is pudding any flavor and if you need a certain color you can use food coloring to change the color to what you want. You use the butcher paper to let them paint on. it is coated on one side so that it wont bleed through to the other side. My kids love this and we are actually doing it this weekend to make presents for their dads birthday and I will post pictures to show just how fun and easy it is.

Reading with you kid

So I have found a fun way to keep my kids entertained when reading lately.
I let each of them choose a book and then after reading it I let them act it out or make up alternate  endings to the story. My 5 yeah old loves to try to act them out while my 7 year old loves to make up alternate endings. I am going to post some pictures some time this week cause they are so cute when reading.

Indoor kids crafts and activities

So I am going to add a new area to this blog for the kids. I have some great fun stuff to do indoor with the kids and I will get them added this week. If you have any ideas you would like me to add just leave me a comment and I will add it to the list. I will also be adding kid friendly recipes that my kids love me to make as well as help me make it. I will let everyone know once I get these started I hope this goes as well as it is going on my head.
